How to use PEQ

Parametric EQ is fantastic for polishing and fine-tuning guitar tones, but it’s less of a guitar effect and more of a pro-audio tool, which can be confusing. In today’s video I will share with you my personal strategies for using parametric EQ.

Do I still like the .strandberg* Boden NX after 3 months?

After owning this guitar for a few months, I have some thoughts...

I actually like this instrument more than I thought I would, and I'd happily be the owner of another .strandberg* in the future. In this video I discuss the Boden's highs and lows I've found after some real world...

What to know when transferring Fractal presets

Using the same preset across different Fractal units is great.

For example, when touring, I use my Axe-FX III as my main rig and my FM3 as my backup should anything go awry. Using something like the FM3 for rehearsals and then the larger Axe-FX for the show is another great case-use.

DON'T make this big mistake with modes

Modes are an often confusing topic. Not only do we feel the need to learn them because someone on the internet said we should, but when we do learn them, they are taught in such a way that doesn't make much sense. If your first lessons with modes read "Learn Modes on the Guitar" or was...

Using the Axe-FX as a Mixer for Wedding Gigs

Yes... the Axe-FX III is the most powerful guitar modeler out there, but we can also use that power for other applications. I recently used my Axe-FX as my main mixer for a wedding gig where I played ceremony music, ran a music playlist, and needed a speech/ toast mic. The Axe-FX solved many...

Intervals Are Easy!

Intervals can be a very confusing topic when it comes to theory because most teachers make it needlessly complex. Counting half-steps and memorizing "what interval is how many of the half-steps" is not only the long way, but also NOT the way musicians think of intervals. Really, the secret is...
